Having progressed through a fall tryout and further evaluation at regional training with players also selected from the Rio Grand Valley, Austin and Houston areas. The players will now represent South Texas ODP in Alabama, where they will compete against surrounding ODP teams.

“Each year we have many players attend the ODP selection program and I am delighted that the numbers are growing with how far FC Thunder players are progressing. It is a testament to the effort these players have put in and are getting rewarded for.

We also have many talented players at FC Thunder that didn’t attend this year, who I hope to see do so in future to showcase their talent in a different environment. It is a valuable experience for any aspiring young soccer player.” – Director of Coaching, Ben Loney.

"The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is part of the original Olympic Development Program founded in 1977 by US Youth Soccer as a national identification and development program for elite level players. The program identifies and develops players to compete at the state, regional, and national levels in support of National Team development efforts."
