We are delighted to announce two new additions to the coaching staff, as we welcome Phil Anderson and Cailee Morgan to Boerne Soccer Club for the 2019-2020 season!
Coach Cailee joins us as a coach in our Academy program. After growing up in Pearland, Texas, Cailee has spent the last 4 years at Schreiner University as a student athlete attaining a Sports Management degree.
Graduating this year, Cailee played at Schreiner University for all four years and was team captain during her senior year. She was awarded first team all-conference in 2016 and 2017, and in 2018 she made second team all-conference.
This past year, Cailee held the role of Sports and Recreation Coordinator Assistant at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Kerrville, where she gained experience organizing youth and adult sports leagues, summer camps and tournaments, while coaching soccer and various youth sports, with players ranging from the ages 3 to 15. Cailee has her USSF Grassroots qualifications.
“Being able to work in soccer as a coach and mentor for young athletes is an absolute dream come true. I am so excited for the opportunity to develop players in a sport I have been involved in my whole life. I look forward to seeing the children grow as players and people, while also learning to be the best coach I can be. I am thrilled to be a part of an organization like FC Thunder.” – Cailee Morgan
Coach Phil joins us as a coach in the Academy and Select program. Phil has his USSF C License and starred as a member of the Schreiner men's soccer team from 2008-12. Upon graduation in 2012 (Exercise Science), Phil served as the assistant coach for Schreiner Women's Soccer (2013-14), as well as, for the men's program (2015). He was the Schreiner Head Cross Country Coach since June of 2015, was named Assistant Coach for Track & Field for Schreiner August 2018 and a coach for the Hill Country Crush Academy for 7 years.
“Ever since coaching in soccer camps and recreational programs during high school, I had a passion for helping players grow both on and off the field. I have coached all age groups in my club experience over the last 7 years, which has allowed me to see the impact of that support over a long period of time. I can’t wait to get to work with the players at Boerne, to help develop their ability and love of the game.” – Phil Anderson
"We are so proud to add Phil and Cailee to the coaching team here at Boerne. Both of them have shown exactly what we look for in our staff, being dedicated to doing the best they can for each and every player. I look forward to watching their contribution to FC Thunder in the coming years, as we continue to build the best program we can for all involved." – Wayne Bartlett, Director of Coaching.
Welcome Coach Phil and Coach Cailee!
