Boerne Soccer Club Logo/Name Update News!

Beginning the summer of 2020, we have updated our logo and name to Boerne Soccer Club in all communications rather than using FC Thunder. 

Below are some answers to questions we thought you might have in regard to this change, as we are now solely using our organizational name - Boerne Soccer Club!

Why are we changing our logo and name?

Our club started in 1979 as the Boerne Optimist Soccer League (BOSL). While our organization has been called Boerne Soccer Club since 1995, FC Thunder was introduced to the club's banner several years ago. We have since used FC Thunder, Boerne FC Thunder and Boerne Soccer Club for different programs, which has led to confusion and even misconceptions of there being two different clubs.

Our decision to solely use the name Boerne Soccer Club from this point forward provides clarity as to who we are and what we do, in serving our community and families at all levels of play as the only non-profit soccer organization in Boerne.

With the update, will my player be in the same league/association?

The update will have no effect on team league/association placement.

What will our teams be called?

All teams will be named: Boerne Soccer Club _ _ _ _ (For example: Boerne Soccer Club 05 Boys). Previously, our Select/Academy teams were listed as Boerne FC Thunder in league associations and tournaments.
