Casey Collins and Nick Morrison join FC Thunder as staff coaches for the 2018/2019 season!

We are delighted to announce that Casey Collins and Nick Morrison will be joining our staff to coach teams at FC Thunder for the 2018/2019 season. Nick will add to his current role as our College Liaison at the club.

Casey has been the Head Coach at Schreiner University since December 2017 after spending three years as an assistant coach with the University of Houston-Victoria soccer program.

A native of Seattle, Washington, after graduating from The Evergreen State College in 2011 he went on to play professionally with the Kitsap Pumas where he was a member of the 2011 PDL National Champions. He also spent five seasons playing and coaching in the PASL. He currently holds his USSF National “C” license, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, as well as his NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping license.

“I want to thank FC Thunder for giving me the opportunity to join the coaching staff for the 2018/2019 season and helping build a solid program that benefit players of all ages and ambitions. It is a great club with a bright future and I am excited to be a part of it.” – Casey Collins

Nick has been the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Schreiner University since December 7, 2012, after serving as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach and Assistant Athletic Academic Coordinator at Prairie View A&M (NCAA Division I).

Since taking the Head Coach role at Schreiner, Nick has transformed the program. Having led Schreiner to a spot in the postseason conference tournament for the first time in its NCAA history in 2014, Nick has since won 2 SCAC Coach-of-the-Year awards and has built the Mountaineers into one of the strongest teams in the SCAC.

“I’m excited to be joining a talented coaching staff and club in Boerne FC Thunder as a staff coach for the senior teams as well as the college liaison for the club.  I will be working with the directors and other members of the staff to push the older age groups in the club to a higher level of play, and to ultimately get them to continue their pursuit in playing competitive soccer at the next level. Through this directive, I would like to implement technical and tactical sessions that mirror what the players would likely face in a college level system.  In conjunction with the club staff and directors, I hope this will serve as a productive model for the younger players coming through the club to see the older members go off to various colleges and various levels, and get them excited about the same opportunities available to them in the future.” – Nick Morrison

“This is a great day for FC Thunder in being able to secure two college Head Coaches with such experience and dedication to the development of players both on and off the field. We are excited about the new season and the plans we have in place for all players and teams to grow at FC Thunder.” – FC Thunder DOC, Wayne Bartlett
