Welcome Coach Ryan!

FC Thunder is delighted to welcome Ryan Bjelland as our latest addition to the coaching staff!

Ryan joins the club as a Coach in our Academy and Select program.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining Boerne FC Thunder.  Growing up in a rural community in Wisconsin that puts people before anything else, I am excited to be living, working and teaching the beautiful game and being a part of the Boerne community that values the same things.  Having met the coaching staff, board of directors, and some of the players and families at the club, it only increases my excitement to get started and give back to all involved with the club and community.  This club has a bright future, and I am lucky and honored to be able to be a part of that growth going forward." – Ryan Bjelland.

“It is great to be able to bring on such a valuable asset to our club’s coaching staff. Ryan has great experience working with boys and girls of all age groups and more importantly has all the qualities we look for in a coach. We look forward to Ryan joining the club and building on the connections he has started, as we continue to seek the best coaches and staff for our FC Thunder players.” – FC Thunder Director of Coaching, Wayne Bartlett.

Ryan attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Technology and a minor in Psychology.  He played two years of NCAA Division III soccer and tennis while attending college, before moving back to his home town to begin his coaching career where he ran a High School Boys Soccer Varsity program for 3 years.

In early 2017, Ryan followed his passion for coaching to New York City, to serve as a youth coach for the New York Red Bulls.  Ryan was able to work with players from ages 4 – 18, both boys and girls, of all different levels and abilities. Ryan has also earned the USC National Diploma and USSF C License, giving him valuable experience to be able to deliver the highest quality soccer education to the FC Thunder family.

Coach Ryan is currently fulfilling his commitment in New York City and will be relocating to Boerne in March.
